Great concept for a book. The use of technology and engineering is fascinating and rather realistic. Treats the idea of deity with respect as well. This book is very creatively written and kept surprising me. The book has no sex scenes and little or no swearing.The problems with the book are the only reason I gave it four stars instead of five: the book really needs editing!
There are frequent incorrect use of homonyms such as “to” when they mean “two.” Some sentences have a missing word or the word is in the wrong place in the sentence. I got used to this and still enjoyed the book, but it would be an easier read if the book were carefully edited. More character interaction between Tim, his wife, and their children/grandchildren would also have been nice.
That being said, I still enjoyed this book. I am a retired science teacher / scientist and really enjoyed how the characters used science / engineering & technology as they managed crises and problems in the settlement of Mars.
